East County Ballet Conservatory – The Nutcracker

Ballet Dancers from Expressions Dance & Movement Center in Santee, CA come together to present this full-length ballet production, and dancers from the East County Ballet Conservatory will dance in all your favorite principle roles including Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, & More!

The story of The Nutcracker ballet has dazzled & inspired generations of families since it's debut in 1892. The classical favorite was first performed in America by the San Fransisco Ballet in 1944, under the direction of Willam Christensen, when it was performed for the first time in the United States on Christmas Eve. Once the New York City Ballet began performing George Balanchine's slightly modernized version of The Nutcracker every December, the holiday tradition for families to enjoy the ballet together every year around Christmas time began to take shape. Now, families across the world, in nearly every established community, can attend a locally produced Nutcracker. Ballet Students & Professional Dancers rejoice in being cast in the most iconic ballet of all time, and hold tight to the memories they make being part of something so much larger than their small community performances. The Nutcracker is a right of passage for any ballet dancer, and connects generations of dancers together.
