Expressions Performing Group's mission is to build confident, technically skilled dancers who are leaders in their community, while providing them opportunities to compete against themselves and showcase their abilities beyond East County.
Performing Group teams have multiple opportunities to perform throughout the entire dance year at community events, competitions, fundraisers, and recitals. Performing Group members also participate in unique training opportunities like masterclasses & dance conventions.
There are three tiers of commitment, allowing families to choose the level that works best for them and their unique dancer.

Performing Groups at Expressions have 3 tiers:
Smile Squad
All dancers in Smile Squad have the opportunity to do 1-2 routines. This is our smallest level commitment tier of Performing Groups that mainly does community performances, with 1 competition at the end of the season. All Smile Squad dancers will be placed in a Jazz routine and may also add additional Jazz or Hip Hop routines.
Performing Ensemble
All dancers in Performing Ensemble will be placed in 2+ group routines with other Performing Ensemble Members. The genres of routines will be determined based on auditions. They may also have the opportunity to join Production, a large group routine with a theme. This is our middle tier of Performing Groups participating in community performances, Opening Numbers, and 3 competitions.
Performing Company
All dancers in Performing Company will be placed in 2+ group routines with other Performing Company Members. The genre of routines will be determined based on auditions. Performing Company members may also join Production or perform a solo, duo, or trio. This is our most advanced tier of Performing Groups participating in community performances, Opening Numbers, and 4+ competitions. Performing Company members are subject to approval by Performing Group choreographers. If we feel your dancer is not ready for this commitment, we will suggest Performing Ensemble or Smile Squad.

Thank you!!
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your dancer's growth! We are excited for the next dance season and are looking forward to guiding dancers through this accelerated program of training.
If your dancer is planning to join Performing Company and would like to apply to be a Performing Group Captain, please fill out this form.

Testimonials
As a mom, I have been so in awe of the way the choreographers have crafted dances that encourage improvement, but also highlight the dancers’ strengths and let each and every dancer shine.
Our daughter’s dance skills and confidence have grown so much with each opportunity to perform, but she is learning so much more: how to be a supportive teammate, to meet challenges like masterclasses and competitions with courage and positivity, to define success not by perfection or comparing herself to others, but by her attitude, efforts and improvement, and to find inspiration & joy in the art of dance!"
EDMC’s Performing Group and ECBC is a group of dancers that are more than just a dance program, they are family. Her dance family has been supportive of all of her endeavors ranging from pushing her skills as a dancer to growing her as a leader. But, PG and ECBC haven’t just been important to just my daughter, it is important to our whole family. We have made close friendships with other dance families that extended beyond the dance studio. This is a studio that is inclusive, and grows leaders who dance!
